I've spent the last five months looking for an artist to partner with me on the comic book called BLIGHT. I've had several folks try out. One whose art I find amazing almost worked out but other paying jobs got in the way, plus this artist wasn't used to comics. Then while I was at the science fiction, fantasy and horror convention called TUS-CON, in Tuscon, Arizona, I met Nick Diaz. We talked. He sent me his link over at Deviant Art, so I could see his work, then I sent him the script and asked him to render a page so I could check it out.
Blam! I'm on the plane two days later and I get an email with the page. Wow!
Here's an example panel from page 5-
Isn't she a bad ass little girl? Love the grin. Love the eyes. I think Nick captured her pretty well.
Realizing of course that this isn't the finished product, this is an excellent job. I love the use of negative space. Whenever we find an inker and colorist, he or she is going to have a great time filling those in.
So what questions do you have? Wanna learn more about Wysteria? Wanna learn more about Blight?
Please link or follow the Blight Blog. Both Nick and I will be posting regularly. We're looking to get this published in the future, but want to include everyone in the process as we go along.
Until next time

Panel 3
A little girl (WYSTERIA) with a peg-leg (right) stands in front of them. She has a soiled white dress. Her hair is tied in pigtails with barrettes that are made of finger bones. She’s cute as a button, despite the malevolent grin. She holds a shiny .357 magnum long barrel in a two-handed grip.
